Mulukakao means “the place of cacao,” and it’s here that our story begins. Our roots run deep in the Nicaraguan soil, where generations of farmers have cultivated the cacao and coffee beans that make our products truly special. Founded by Noel Montoya, a Nicaraguan native, and Anjie Price, a former Peace Corps volunteer from Mississippi, Mulukakao was born out of a shared passion for chocolate-making and a commitment to supporting local communities.
Our Mission:
We connect farmers to consumers through fair, direct, and transparent trade. Our mission is to create a meaningful experience for chocolate and coffee lovers by offering products that are not only delicious but also ethically sourced and sustainably produced.
Our Process:
From the fertile lands of Nicaragua to our factory, where raw cacao and coffee beans are transformed into high-quality products, every step in our process is designed to preserve the unique flavors of our ingredients. We work closely with smallholder farmers to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Our Values:
We believe in making a positive impact on the world, one bar of chocolate and one cup of coffee at a time.
- Environmental Preservation
- Supporting Livelihoods
- Responsible Sourcing
Our Vision:
We aspire to bring the flavors of Central and South America to a global audience, offering a taste of culture and culinary creativity that’s rooted in tradition and craftsmanship.
